Ask the Swan Specialist
Date: 3 September 2015
My coscoroba swans laid their second batch of eggs on the 15th of July so their hatching date should have been anything from the 19th-24th of August.
The eggs are, however, not hatched yet. Their first eggs were laid on the 27th of June and they were disturbed by a person so the mother rejected them afterwards and then made her recent nest. My question is if this is normal or whether I should remove these eggs or leave them with the female? She is still doing a great job with sitting on them and protecting the nest so I really dont know what would be the best for her.
Hope you can give me some advice!
